The Pumpkin Patch!
Yesterday we went to the pumpkin patch with our fabulous neighbors. We had a good time looking at the pumpkins and finding the perfect ones. I could not believe how cheap they are at a patch compared to the grocery store, that and what a fun experience. There was so much to do, but the lines were incredibly long so next year we'll plan better so we can arrive earlier in the day and hopefully beat the rush. Eli will also be bigger next year so he'll be able to do more and have more fun searching for just the right pumpkin.
For the most part Eli really had a good time. He loved running up and down the rows of pumpkins until we tried to have him sit on one so we could take a picture. Yeah, not so thrilled with that idea. Tonight we carved them and he had a ball sitting at the table with us playing with his cars, and pumpkin guts, while we slaved away on the pumpkins. We got 4 pumpkins as Jess's mom is here and have 4 carved pumpkins to show for it. I can not remember the last time I carved a pumpkin - must have been middle school or high school....yeah, I'm not going to date me or anything so we'll leave it at that. Here are a few pictures to commemorate our pumpkin weekend. :)
Why are there so many pumpkins?

Did you notice he has a matchbox car in each hand? He has to have them everywhere he goes. Yes, that includes bed AND the bathtub.

Your pumpkins ARE awesome! Great job! Those probably look so cool on your front porch. I love pumpkin patch pictures. I can't wait till Emma's a little older and can understand more of all the traditions we're doing. I just love that we're starting these family traditions ... I want her to look back on family time and remember all these things we did together. Even though this year she had no idea what any of it meant ... that's okay. Someday she'll see pictures and know that even when she's so little, we still wanted to do fun things together.
So cute, Eli and his cars. :) Happy autumn!
Sounds like fun! And I do love your pumpkins. I still need to put candles in ours and take picures.... I'm such a slacker... lol :)

Glad you all had a fun time at the patch...even if "punkin' sittin'" wasn't quite what the photography subject wanted;)
