It seems as though Shannon has graciously tagged me! This being said, here goes:
The Rules:
1. List 6 random facts about me or my family
2. Tag 6 people
3. Leave 6 comments
Ok, and the stuff you're dying to hear (or die from hearing HAHA):
1. Jess and I have been married for coming up on FIVE years. I know, that's not very exciting, but it amazes me when I think about it. It doesn't seem possible that nearly five years have passed. In that time, we've both graduated from college (ok, technically that was shortly before we were married, but I'm counting it anyway), acquired REAL jobs in the REAL world, moved across the state, bought our own house, bought two new cars - I suppose techically that would be three since the Protege we got after we were married was totalled, AND had our wonderful little boy. What a great five years!
2. I have my own business...well more specifically - WE have a business, but I do the work...unless the bag from the fabric store gets inadvertently left at our friends house and someone has to go pick it up. :)
3. I can't wait to start my new job teaching fourth grade in Maple Valley! My days will be shorter. I'll get to leave more than an hour later than I do now, and will still be getting home at roughly the same time even though I will get out of school later! More time with my wonderful boys. YAY!
4. I've been bitten by the "house fixin' upper bug." We don't have a run-down house by any means, but I find myself looking at everything and thinking "hmmmm....I should do this, I should do that." On Monday we replaced the dishwasher, this was out of necessity rather than anything else - darn thing up and died on us! Talk about the pits. I just put up the new 2" wood blinds in our bedroom (YAY, no more white piece of cardboard in the window where the cats had broken a square out of the vinyl blinds we had up). The new look fantastic, now I just have to fix the pair that I ordered too wide, good grief! I want to paint our walls a light tan and all the trim white, continue the backyard, paint the bathroom and make a new shower curtain. ETC......
5. I can't wait to go see my brother at his house in Texas!
6. On my brother's first day of Kindergarten, I sat in the hallway and cried the entire time he was gone because I didn't have anyone to play with. Of course, we had the most fun fighting, but what a horrible thing. He left me to go to school. What could be worse than that?!?!
So, let's see...I am supposed to tag six people...lets go with:
Stephanie, Katharine, Claire, Erin, Jen, you :)
HAVE FUN!

Liam's adoption
Congratulations to our wonderful neighbors, Gordon, Dusti, and Liam. Liam's adoption was final as of last Friday, May 16. All I can say is that if anyone is more deserving, it is these two. They are the most kind hearted, wonderful people, and to finally have their sweet boy, Liam, legally be their son, is beyond words. Since they found out they would be his adoptive parents before he was born, their whole lives have revolved around his sweet little heart. Everything they do is for him and their beautiful family. It's amazing how even though they aren't his biological parents, you would NEVER know. He actually looks like them. He is them. They are him. I love it!
We got to spend the afternoon with them at the courthouse, witnessing the final proceedings. It was much shorter than I thought it would be, but it was beautiful none the less. Maybe that's because we've all been waiting for this day for so long.
At the courthouse just before Liam's adoption was FINAL! (of course my camera died shortly after these pictures, so everything else was taken on their camera)
Momma D, little Liam, and Daddy G - I never did get in and try Gordy's tie, but Liam sure liked it.
Liam has the most beautiful big blue eyes.

And of course my boy. He was playing with my sunglasses while talking to Jess. He is such an expressive kid! I love his many, many faces. You can see exactly what he's feeling/thinking just by his face. I don't know where he gets it....nope....not me....

Blankets, Blankets, and More Blankets
For those of you that don't know, I started my own business back in February. I have my business license and everything. It's still pretty amazing to me, but that's the way it goes. SnugglyWink Enterprises, although right now I'm selling as SnugglyWink Blankets because that's all I've done so far. I've thought about adding on personalized lunch bags, but haven't quite gotten that far yet. I need to do a little research on good fabrics and what not. I'd like them to be waterproof, etc, so I have some work to do before I dive into that. Maybe this summer....
Anyway, the more I work on these blankets, the better they get. I haven't done one yet that I don't like - I guess that's a good thing. It would be pretty sad to make something I don't like, that really defeats the purpose! I was on a pretty quiet stretch there for a bit, making a blanket every once in a while, then Cheryle asked me to make a Corvette themed blanket for Jess's dad. Of course I took her up on it! I have been wanting to move on and add adult lap blankets to my list, just hadn't done that yet. After searching for a "manly" fabric combination, and spending several days searching embroidery designs online, I finally found what we were looking for. I made him a really neat C6 themed blanket (the model he has), I was getting ready to do the embroidery when....pause for dramatic purposes...my embroidering machine quit working! I couldn't believe it - and I was fuming! I had only had the thing a few short months, there was no reason it should be dead! After contacting the warranty company, they were shipping a new one! As luck has it, they lost our address, and it still isn't here. Hopefully Monday or Tuesday. Thankfully, my wonderful Mom has the same machine so I borrowed hers to finish Glenn's blanket.

Of course while my machine has been inoperable, I have been getting orders left and right. I don't know what I would have done had Mom not let me borrow her machine. I finished an order off my etsy site tonight, after yet another round of technical difficulties. I had light green flannel to go with golf print flannel, but when I embroidered it, the fabric separated and looked awful! There was no way I was going to send something like that to someone. So I ran to the fabric store and lo and behold, they had NOTHING in a flannel to substitute. Instead, I went with a light green fleece and WOW! This blanket turned out great! I am really impressed with the flannel/fleece combination. Talk about a snuggly blanket! :)
I still have a couple to go. I have two for a good friend, one for one of my students (isn't it cute that one bought one?!) , and another friend from school is waiting for fabric to get to her that she ordered online for me to make her a blanket. :) HAHA I love it!
Well, here are a few of my most recent blankets. If you have ideas for something you think people might like, let me know, I'm always looking for new ideas.

New Place, New Look
I decided to move on and start a new blog. So here I am. To start this off, we have great news! And no, there is not a new little Winkey on the way. Sheesh, you crazy little baby focused people. HAHA That won't happen for a while. Instead, both Jess and I have professional changes to share.
Jess has been working for Boeing since the month before Elijah was born. Being a Change Specialist Level II Project Manager, it is very difficult to move up, until you can meet their job requirements as printed on paper. It didn't matter that he had been doing this job for quite some time already, his experience didn't meet the requirement, so no promotion. His fabulous boss decided to go ahead and submit him in form his promotion to the Skills Committee. THEY APPROVED IT! Jess is now a Level III - the youngest one in the Puget Sound area in his group by several years. My husband is the best! Congrats, babe. You rock.
As for me, I have been teaching at Hilltop for the last 4 years. My first year was in sixth grade, and I am currently in my 3rd year of teaching fourth grade. For the past several years, I have been contemplating moving districts. Driving 22 miles each way, every day, has been draining on both me and my family. I feel like I don't get to spend time with my handsome husband and son. SO, I finally applied in the Tahoma School District (Maple Valley - where we live) and I was just offered a position teaching 4th grade at Lake Wilderness Elementary. We can actually see the school from our backyard! How exciting is that. My commute will be going from 44 miles a day to roughly 2 (you have to add on a little because of taking Eli to day care in the morning) miles. I am excited to meet the new staff and continue my teaching career. Although, as excited as I am, I'm really sad that I'll be leaving my teaching friends at Hilltop. I work with a group of wonderful people, but know that we'll stay in touch and I'm going to get a couple of them to move out here. :) Yes, I will be stealing some Hilltop'ers to come out here if I can!
Elijah is getting so big. He's really trying to figure out the idea of running. Sometimes he isn't nearly as lucky as other times and can't keep his feet moving as quick as the rest of his body. He still loves to read books with both Mommy and Daddy as well as reading the books to us. He is such a smart little boy too. While we were reading one day I asked him if he could find anything red on the page, and he pointed to the red balloon. So I asked if there was anything else red on the page and he pointed to the red ball. YAY ELI! Of course at that point, as I was getting ready to ask about another color, he was off and running to something else.
I love this picture of Jess and Eli's feet. I don't know why, but they make me all fuzzy inside when I look at it.

He loves his easel. His favorite is the white board, although, we often have to hide the markers so save the furniture. Don't get me wrong, he doesn't intentionally color on the furniture, but inadvertently marks on things as he walks by. He also loves his new sandbox. For Mother's Day, I got a sandbox for my boy! It's the greatest thing. With the help of Grandma and Grandpa, we brought it home on Sunday, filled it with sand, then spent the next 4.5 hours playing in the backyard. SO CUTE!
Today we also moved Eli to the table for dinner. He's still sitting in his high chair, but we lowered it and scooted him up to the table. I think he really enjoyed being more of a part of our dinner routine. We had tacos and he ate like a champ - then again, he's usually a pretty good eater.
Sorry about the banana hanging out...he loves his bananas! My little monkey man

Ok, here are a couple pictures, just because I can!
Playing flight simulator with Daddy. Eli was really into this - he liked making the plane move. Silly Daddy.
