Tricks or Treats?

Tonight we took Eli out for his second Halloween. At first he was very shy and didn't want to say anything to anyone. Not even Isabelle, his little friend from across the loop. It didn't take long, however, until they were both having fun going to the doors, knocking, and asking for candy. We couldn't get Eli to say "trick or treat" but every time he did say please and of course either "bye bye" with a wave or "see ya!" I have to say, the cutest part was when people would hold the bowl of candy down to Isabelle and Eli for them to take their own. Eli would get one for him, put it in his bag, then go for another one. The other one was ALWAYS for Isabelle. He was quite concerned that she was getting her share. Apparently we've been doing something right! :) Dusti and Liam joined us for a little while too. So much fun!

Eli's Girlfriend Comes to Visit

Today our good friends Todd, Erin, and Chloe came to visit during the Seahawks Game, which unbelievably they won. It's a miracle that one Washington team was able to pull out a victory. Elijah and Chloe (4 1/2 months older than Eli) had a wonderful time playing together. It was a beautiful day so were even able to play outside for a while.

They sat together in Eli's little car.

Yes, she's going in for a kiss. How cute is that?!!?!?

They held hands while drinking their juice.

Then they played together outside, driving Eli's car and riding his bike. Eli really just wanted to drive the car and not share with Chloe. At one point Chloe had taken control of the car while Erin and I sat on the curb. Eli plopped down next to us but wouldn't take his eyes off the car. When she got out, he ran to it as fast as he could, got in, then "drove" around with the funniest little fast. It was hilarious.

Here's a picture of the Ollie-dog. Yes, he's fat. We are aware.

Guess where we went!

The Pumpkin Patch!

Yesterday we went to the pumpkin patch with our fabulous neighbors. We had a good time looking at the pumpkins and finding the perfect ones. I could not believe how cheap they are at a patch compared to the grocery store, that and what a fun experience. There was so much to do, but the lines were incredibly long so next year we'll plan better so we can arrive earlier in the day and hopefully beat the rush. Eli will also be bigger next year so he'll be able to do more and have more fun searching for just the right pumpkin.

For the most part Eli really had a good time. He loved running up and down the rows of pumpkins until we tried to have him sit on one so we could take a picture. Yeah, not so thrilled with that idea. Tonight we carved them and he had a ball sitting at the table with us playing with his cars, and pumpkin guts, while we slaved away on the pumpkins. We got 4 pumpkins as Jess's mom is here and have 4 carved pumpkins to show for it. I can not remember the last time I carved a pumpkin - must have been middle school or high school....yeah, I'm not going to date me or anything so we'll leave it at that. Here are a few pictures to commemorate our pumpkin weekend. :)

Why are there so many pumpkins?

Did you notice he has a matchbox car in each hand? He has to have them everywhere he goes. Yes, that includes bed AND the bathtub.

Not wanting to pose for pictures with Daddy.

Us at the farm.

Our pumpkins. Aren't they awesome?!

Funny Conversation

Ok, so in a friend's latest post she had a great conversation between her and one of her husbands students. This conversation reminded me of one that I had with one of my boys on Thursday. It went something like this:

Bob (clearly not the real name of said child): Hey, Winkey....

Me: (thinking to myself) Seriously? Did he just call me Winkey??? hmmmm
Heeeeeyyyyy! What's up ____ (first part of last name).

Bob: (slightly embarrassed) Oh....I.....uhhhh....MRS. Winkey

Me: Whacha need dude? How's it goooooooiiiiin? How can the Wink help you?

Bob: (giggling uncontrollably) uhhhh.....well....

Me: Wusssup man?!

Bob leaves the room to go outside for recess continuing to giggle uncontrollably.

Of course I wasn't just talking normally. I was using my best higher pitched valley gangsta' voice. It was pretty funny. He was laughing so hard so it couldn't have been all bad. LOL

I have to share my boy and his cars. Eli LOVES cars. That's even an understatement. He loves, loves, loves cars. When he plays with them it is inevitable that they will end up in a line at some point. He will either line them up nose to tail in one really long line (like you would see cars driving down the road) or next to each other, door to door (like we see them in parking lots). It is amazing because no one has shown him this, it's just something he picked up on his own. Most recently he has added surrounding things with his cars. Here he is this morning after he finished his breakfast playing with his cars.

Clearly Not A Morning Person

Clearly someone was not ready to wake up this morning.

Eli and Daddy were having a great time playing last night. I have to include some father/son moments in here. And I might add that Eli sure loves his Daddy now. Not that he didn't before, but he's starting to grow out of his Mommy phase. Today when Jess was leaving with Ryan, Eli started crying and saying "Daddy, Daddy, Daddy! Muh Daddy" I love his little "muh daddy" it's the cutest little thing.

Jumpin' Jack Flash!

That should really read Jumpin' Eli News Flash!!!!!

Eli jumped today!!!! I mean he jump jumped. Two feet left the ground at the same time! And I have to add, he was very excited, probably because both Jess and I were excited, but he even started clapping and laughing. It was SO cute!

I have no idea when kids typically start to jump or if it was really his first, but it was the first time he has jumped at home. What a big boy!

A Surprising Little Visitor

Ok, so the most random thing happened just a minute ago.

Picture it.

Jess and I are sitting here "watching" the Cougar game. Jess is watching more intently than I, also conversing on Cou.gFan with other die hard fans. I am playing the game my mom has so graciously passed her addiction on to me, Clu.sterz. All of a sudden Jess blurts out, "what in the world is that?" Zooey, one of our round little cats, is intently inspecting what we believe must be a giant spider (my horrible thought) or a dying moth (Jess's initial idea). Then it HOPPED across the floor! Somehow a little tree frog had ventured into our house! It actually freaks me out a little. How long, and how many, of these things are in our house? The only thing we can think of is that Eli's little bike that has the wagon must be the culprit. That has got to be how it made its way in. Hopefully, there will be no more visitors. Of course, we had to take a pictures of said guest.

Captured!

Everyone, and everything, needs a little coffee once in a while.

Too much coffee makes you bounce off the walls.

Our own little fish

Eli has decided that he loves the bathtub. It hasn't been a fight for a long time to get him to take a bath, however, he can think of quite a few things he would much rather do than take a bath. Until now.

Tonight he gathered all his little cars and started heading for the stairs. When I asked where he was off to, he said "baaath." Just to clarify, I asked if he was going upstairs to play in his room. His answer, quite simply was, "no." So I proceeded to ask if he was going to take a bath. Without missing a beat, he excitedly answered "Yeah!"

He loves playing in the tub with his matchbox cars, especially with Daddy. Daddy is so much better than mom in this arena, but she'll do when dad is busy.

Oh, and on a side note, he has GREAT rhythm. He was clapping along with the song that was playing for the credits in Cars, he was right on beat. Neither Jess nor I were clapping at all. Just him! He's amazing in every possible way. We love him so much!
