Ok, so in a friend's latest post she had a great conversation between her and one of her husbands students. This conversation reminded me of one that I had with one of my boys on Thursday. It went something like this:
Bob (clearly not the real name of said child): Hey, Winkey....
Me: (thinking to myself) Seriously? Did he just call me Winkey??? hmmmm
Heeeeeyyyyy! What's up ____ (first part of last name).
Bob: (slightly embarrassed) Oh....I.....uhhhh....MRS. Winkey
Me: Whacha need dude? How's it goooooooiiiiin? How can the Wink help you?
Bob: (giggling uncontrollably) uhhhh.....well....
Me: Wusssup man?!
Bob leaves the room to go outside for recess continuing to giggle uncontrollably.
Of course I wasn't just talking normally. I was using my best higher pitched valley gangsta' voice. It was pretty funny. He was laughing so hard so it couldn't have been all bad. LOL

I have to share my boy and his cars. Eli LOVES cars. That's even an understatement. He loves, loves, loves cars. When he plays with them it is inevitable that they will end up in a line at some point. He will either line them up nose to tail in one really long line (like you would see cars driving down the road) or next to each other, door to door (like we see them in parking lots). It is amazing because no one has shown him this, it's just something he picked up on his own. Most recently he has added surrounding things with his cars. Here he is this morning after he finished his breakfast playing with his cars.

Isn't it funny the conversations you get from kids? Thursday I had a kid (I was teaching title-1 Kindy mind you) who said that I didn't look like a boy, that I looked like a girl. Confusedly I said I am a girl. He then asked me why my name was Boy then. I just laughed, and wondered how many other kids have thought that.
The things kids come up with on there own are amazing. I am always thinking that about Natalie's vocabulary. She's alway using these big words, and using them correctly, that you wouldn't expect out of a 4 year old.
Lots of love guys, and thanks for the kind words.
We just recently found your guy's blog too, via Claire, via Sarah Rounds... I love how the Cougar Band loop is closing, and that now we all get to watch all the cougar band babies grow up.
Hope all is well..
