Eli was playing with his Mater Monster Trucks when Zooey came out to join him. Again, this may not seem very noteworthy, but Zooey never lays by Eli when he is playing, so I snuck out the camera and took a picture before she ran away.

Swing Sleeping
Cooper napped in his swing yesterday. This may not seem like a post worthy event but in reality it is. Cooper hasn't done anything in his swing other than cry in the 7 weeks he's had the opportunity to use his swing. This was a pretty big thing in our house.

What a Glorious Day!
Wow! I can't believe how beautiful it was today. Everyone woke up with the sun shining and in great moods. The boys were all smiles and we just hung out together for much of the morning. Cooper decided he was more grown up than he really is and was awake for most of the morning and on into the afternoon with only one or two power cat naps. Seriously, MAYBE 10-20 minutes each between waking up at 8:00 this morning until close to 2:00 this afternoon. After this point, he's been awake a great deal, but has at least gotten a few longer naps in there as well.
Since it was so beautiful outside, Jess finally got the Christmas lights off the house while Eli rode around on his scooter and then his bike. After Cooper had a full belly, wrangled into his little "bear suit," a bear themed infant coat thing, and strapped into the stroller, he and I headed out to join the big boys. While Jess finished putting lights and decorations away, the boys and I went around the block a few times. Jess was finally able to join us for two laps before heading inside for some lunch.
The rest of the afternoon was pretty low key. There was a little football throwing action by the big boys, lots of eating and snoozing from the littlest boy, a little Cars2 on the XBox, wrestling and tickling, giggling and smiling, and of course seeing as though Cooper is only 7 weeks old, there was some screaming and crying too. What day goes by without at least a little of that? Nothing out of the ordinary...sometimes that Momma is just a little too slow getting the buffet out and ready for his liking. Patience little man. Patience.
I even got to go to the grocery store today. Alone. Just me, my list, and the shopping cart. Ahhhhh. Sometimes it's the little things that can top your day. I was able to zip up and down the aisles without skipping or forgetting anything. I started at one end and made my way aisle by aisle to the other end getting everything I needed along the way. No one asked me for anything. I didn't have to backtrack because I missed something. In and out. It was glorious.
I still need to post about last weekend when Jess's brother and his family came to visit. I will get around to it one of these days. I hope. Just in case, we had a lot of fun seeing them and watching Eli and Brooklyn play and Brook watching Cooper. She's going to make a good big sister in May.
On a side note: it is official. Cooper is mostly out of newborn sized clothes. Well, he still wears newborn sized pants. And some of the onesies. I guess there are some of the sleepers too that he is still wearing. Clearly, I need to recant my statement. He is out of SOME of his newborn sized clothes and fitting into SOME of his 0-3 month clothes. Can you believe that at 7+ weeks, he is still in his newborn clothes? We have such a small little (adorable) peanut! Eli was so much bigger and moved through his clothes at a much quicker rate. This time we get to actually USE his clothes. Have I mentioned lately how much I love my boys? :)
Now....the dryer seems to be beckoning me. I am off!!

Just a Few Pictures
I really should do a real update, but I'm ready to zip off to bed, so I will post some pictures from today instead. I may even include a few captions if you're lucky. One of these days, I will do a real update, since it is definitely overdue!
My sweet boys were full of smiles this morning so I had to grab the camera.
Eli is such a good big brother. Look at how he's holding on to his little brother, making sure he doesn't slip off his lap.
A very happy Cooper and an Eli so intent on watching him.
Eli's still in his jammies but I love how you can see their eye color so clearly in this one.
Now, you cannot tell me this doesn't make you smile. I think if I were having a bad day all I would need to see was this handsome little face. It is priceless.
Grinning at Daddy.
My two sweet boys - big brother is so careful with the little man.
Absolute sweetness.
Ahhhhhhh.
I have the greatest little family.

6 Week Spectacular
Friday marked Cooper's six week birthday. After a friend shared the idea of a weekly picture of one's baby, we decided we were going to give it a shot too! We missed the first 5 weeks, but I still think the idea is totally doable. The idea is that every week we will take a picture of our little man so that at the end of a year, we will have a weekly progression of how he has grown and changed. How neat is that? Here are a couple pictures we captured of our Mini Cooper from Friday, Dec. 30.

Christmas
Our Christmas celebration continued in the traditional Winkey manner. Grandma, Papa, and Uncle Daryl came over on Christmas Eve and we had lots of snacks and opened presents. We had a great time, with only one little snafu when Cooper got a little overly tired/stimulated/who knows. Whatever it was, he started crying and it took quite a while to settle him down. One of the best parts of the night was that Grandma brought Coopers stocking over! We have the best stockings in the entire world. Grandma started 35 years ago when she made them for my cousins and brother and has since made them for all of us and our kids. There are now 12 of them in all and no where in the world will you ever find any like them. They are by far my favorite aspect of our holiday decorations and traditions.
Here are some photos of our Christmas Eve celebration:
Uncle Daryl and pictures of the boys
Grandma and Papa and their silly gifts. LOL
The best Eli smile of the evening.
Me and Coop.
Santa brought Cooper Cougar socks.

Growing Boys
Today was our Well Child appointments for both boys. We can honestly say they are growing like weeds, although one of our so called weeds is moving about it at a much slower rate than the other.
Eli, in for his Five Year Well Child checkup did great. He got one "Make Me Run Faster" flu shot and passed everything else with flying colors. He is in the 88th percentile in both height and weight. (I need to check with Jess to see what the specifics were, I was in the room getting Cooper out of his car seat at the time).
Cooper was in for his One Month Well Child checkup. No shots were had for him at this appointment, but will begin his immunizations next month when we go in for his Two Month Well Child. He has grown exponentially in the last week and a half since our last appointment. He has added a pound and three ounces to his little peanut body, putting him at 9 pounds, 1 ounce. This puts him in the 29th percentile for weight. His height, I know is a little off as I didn't quite have his head at the top of the table, but he wasn't too far off...maybe half an inch or so, but he was measured at 22 inches, which would put him at the 67th percentile. So really, make it a little less than that and that's where he's at. Oops, Mom's bad. :)
I'm quite impressed with the number of updates I've done in the last 24 hours, now you should be pretty caught up with the happenings at the Winkey house! If you haven't read them yet, I've posted five new updates since this time yesterday - of course, with LOTS of pictures!
Boy do I love my family!!!! I am so lucky and so blessed to have them in my life.
